NEW MUSIC: THE ESCAPE ARTIST

NEW MUSIC MONDAY - THE ESCAPE ARTIST

This feature has had a bit of a break recently but returns harder than ever with Hull's very own Hardcore 5 piece, THE ESCAPE ARTIST

I was lucky enough to catch up with these guys just before their set at Humber Street Sesh back in September and upon entering the Green Room I was greeted by a group of excited lads, beer in hand, ready to show Hull what they were made of.

After recently releasing their debut EP, Cruel Bloom, Humber Street Sesh was their first official gig back and they certainly made the most of it.

The tracks were captivating and they pulled a decent crowd at the Road Crew Rock Stage and, with the sun blazing down and The Deep in the background, the atmosphere built and The Escape Artist took to the stage, making it completely their own. Delivering both old and new songs to the crowd which was joined by mosh pits galore.

They describe their music as 'pleasing to the ears' and they were not wrong. With influences from the likes of Deftones, Landscapes, Feed The Rhino and Casey, The Escape Artist are one to watch in the hardcore scene, not only locally but regionally and nationally.

If these guys sound like something you'd be into and if you're in Hull on Friday 15th September then you can catch these guys playing their first headline show. Just head down to O'Rileys , Beverley Road. There are no tickets needed, simply a donation entry with a minimum donation of £2 - next to nothing ehh? As well as The Escape Artist, you can also catch Killer of Kings, Stimpy Myth and Parting Gift on the same bill!

Even if you can't make the gig, make sure you catch these guys on their social media channels and have a listen to 'Lifeboats' below.
